2022-2023 REGISTRATION

NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION: OPENS JUNE 15, 2022

Registration Period

  • Online Registration will open June 1, 2022, and will run through August 15, 2022.
  • Returning Player registrations received after July 15, 2022, will incur a Late Registration Fee.
  • After August 15, 2022, all registrations will have to be done manually by contacting the Registrar on a first come, first served basis. You will NOT be guaranteed a spot on a team and may be placed on a waiting list.
  • Any Player that wishes to try-out for a Rep team must register by July 15, 2022. 
  • New MRFMHA players in divisions U9 to U18 will receive a one-time discount of $200.

MRFMHA currently accepts registration for the U7 (born in 2016 & younger) U9 (born in 2014 & 2015), U11 (born in 2012 & 2013), U13 (born in 2010 & 2011), U15 (born in 2008 & 2009), U18 (born in 2005, 2006 & 2007) & U21 (born in 2003 & 2004) divisions.  Some divisions may offer both recreational and rep levels of play.

Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis to a maximum of 17 players and 2 goaltenders per recreation team.  U11 through U18 level teams will be tiered following the PCAHA recommendations for female hockey. Details on the tiering process to be communicated. Players may be waitlisted if team allocations have been filled.  Players will be notified on or before August 30th, 2022 if a spot on a team is available for them.

Payment Information

PLAYERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE ICE UNTIL ALL PAYMENTS (including volunteer and jersey deposits) AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED, PROCESSED, AND WHEN APPLICABLE, LEAGUE APPROVALS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

Returning & New Players:  All players must register on-line via credit card or via cheque (delivered in person – see below).  All credit card payments will incur the processing fee applied by TeamSnap ($1 per transaction plus 3% processing fee).  The credit card payment option allows for either Full Payment or Instalment Payments at the time of registration. For the 2022-2023 season, there will be no additional charge for the credit card Installment Payment option.   The Instalment Payment plan option has $100 deposit payable at checkout, with the remainder divided into three equal payments. Installment 1 is due July 15, 2022, Installment 2 is due August 15, 2022 and Installment 3 is due September 30, 2022.

If you wish to pay by cheque, please select the “pay offline” option during the registration process.  Once your registration is submitted, please contact MRFMHA Registrar, Kari Crowe (604-833-0554) or registrar@barracudashockey.ca), to arrange a time/location to drop off the registration cheques.  All cheques should be dated August 1, 2022 and be for the full registration amount (no installment plans).  A cheque for $100 for the volunteer deposit is also required to complete the registration process (dated March 31, 2023).  All cheques should be made payable to “MRFMHA” (please include your daughter’s name in the comment box).  Registration will not be considered complete until all cheques are received by the Association.

Volunteer Deposits:  All registrations will include a Volunteer Deposit of $100.  For the 2022-2023, people who have completed their volunteer hours by September 30, 2022 (e.g. Try Hockey, Summer Camp volunteers, coaches, asst. coaches, managers, team Treasurer, full-time scorekeeper & timekeeper, HCSP, executive, board) will have their final credit card payment on September 30, 2022 reduced by the $100 deposit.  All other volunteer hours accrued during the season will be refunded by the Association throughout the season.  All volunteer deposits submitted by cheque will be held until the end of the season.

Goalie Discounts:  Full time goalies in U11 and above are eligible for a 50% discount on registration fees  The discounts will be factored into the Installment Payments or refunded by the Association during the season.  To qualify as a “full time goalie”, the player must own their own equipment and not play as a skater during games.

All fees must be paid in full by September 30, 2022 for the current season.

New Player Discounts:  In order to promote the continued growth of our Association, we are offering a one-time discount of $200 for all new MRFMHA players in divisions U9-U18.  The one-time discount is available for all players new to hockey, those transferring from another association and those who were not registered in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons (inclusive). Please email registrar@barracudashockey.ca to apply for the discount.

Cancellations/Refunds:  The MRFMHA Refund Policy remains in effect for the 2022-2023 season, which is outlined below:

Player withdrawals submitted:

  • before September 10, 2022 will receive a full refund less a $100 administration fee;
  • between September 11 and October 31, 2022 will receive a 50% refund;
  • after November 1, 2022 will not be eligible for a refund.

The MRFMHA Board will amend or adjust refund policy for any COVID-19 related measures or impact to 2022-2023 season.

How to Register

For the 2022-2023 season it is anticipated that some Divisions may experience high registration numbers. Depending upon the number of teams which can be formed, some players may be waitlisted. In these cases, registration status will be determined based upon a first come, first served basis using the date and time when a player was registered through our online registration system. It is therefore important that you register early.
