Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis to a maximum of 18 players and 2 goaltenders per recreation team. U11 through U18 level teams will be tiered following the PCAHA recommendations for female hockey. Details on the tiering process to be communicated. Players may be waitlisted if team allocations have been filled. Players will be notified on or before August 30th, 2026 if a spot on a team is available for them.
Jersey Fee: This fee is part of a three-year jersey replacement plan designed to gradually update and replace the Association’s jersey inventory. The program will help ensure all teams continue to have high-quality jerseys while spreading the cost over multiple seasons for families.
Giants Tickets: All players/goalies (U7-U18) include the purchase of one ticket to our Vancouver Giants fundraiser game (date TBD). Tickets are $25, with net proceeds supporting the Association. Additional tickets will be available for purchase through your team manager at a later date. We encourage all families to attend, support the Association and cheer on our U9 Barracudas as they take the ice during the first intermission.
Raffle Fundraiser: All players/goalies are expected to sell $225 in Barracuda raffle tickets ($450 maximum per family). The raffle will happen later on in the season. During registration you have the option to opt out of selling the raffle tickets and pay the $225.
Volunteer Deposit: All families are expected to contribute a minimum of two volunteer hours at the Association level during the season. A $200 volunteer deposit cheque must be submitted to your team's manager at the start of the season. All cheques should be post dated to March 31 2027 and made payable to “MRFMHA”. The comment box should have "2026-2027 - Volunteer Deposit - Player's Full Name". Families who complete their volunteer requirement will have their cheque returned or destroyed at the end of the year. Alternatively, families may choose to opt out of the volunteer requirement and pay the $200 fee during registration.
Payment Information
PLAYERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE ICE UNTIL ALL PAYMENTS (including volunteer deposits) AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED, PROCESSED, AND WHEN APPLICABLE, LEAGUE APPROVALS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Returning & New Players: All players must register online via credit card or via cheque (delivered in person – see below). All credit card payments will incur the processing fee applied by TeamSnap ($1 per transaction plus 3% processing fee). The credit card payment option allows for either Full Payment or Instalment Payments at the time of registration. For the 2026-2027 season, there will be no additional charge for the credit card Installment Payment option. The Instalment Payment plan option has $100 deposit payable at checkout, with the remainder divided into four equal payments:
- Installment 1 due July 15th 2026
- Installment 2 due August 15th 2026
- Installment 3 due September 30th 2026
- Installment 4 due October 31st 2026
If you wish to pay by cheque, please select the “pay offline” option during the registration process. Once your registration is submitted, please contact MRFMHA Registrar via email at registrar@barracudashockey.ca, to arrange a time/location to drop off the registration cheques. All cheques should be dated August 1, 2026 and be for the full registration amount (no installment plans). All cheques should be made payable to “MRFMHA” (please include your daughter’s name in the comment box). Registration will not be considered complete until all cheques are received by the Association.
Goalie Discounts: Full time goalies in U11 and above are eligible for reduced registration fees. To qualify as a “full time goalie”, the player must own their own equipment and not play as a skater during games. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by the MRFMHA Board.
All fees must be paid in full by September 30, 2026 for the current season.
Cancellations/Refunds: The MRFMHA Refund Policy remains in effect for the 2026-2027 season, which is outlined below:
Player withdrawals submitted:
- before September 10, 2026 will receive a full refund less a $100 administration fee;
- between September 11 and October 31, 2026 will receive a 50% refund;
- after November 1, 2026 will not be eligible for a refund.
Financial Assistance: MRFMHA is dedicated to ensuring local athletes have the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of financial circumstances. We have compiled a list of available programs that offer financial assistance. For more details, visit our Financial Assistance page.

How to Register
For the 2026-2027 season it is anticipated that some Divisions may experience high registration numbers. Depending upon the number of teams which can be formed, some players may be waitlisted. In these cases, registration status will be determined based upon a first come, first served basis using the date and time when a player was registered through our online registration system. It is therefore important that you register early.
Each 'Player type' has a different set of requirements and steps. Click the appropriate 'Player type' from the list below for instructions on how to register.
