Coaching Requirements
To ensure the safety and development of our athletes, all coaches in BC must meet the following Hockey Canada and BC Hockey certification and screening requirements:
Mandatory Requirements Prior To Any Participation (practices, games, etc.):
- Criminal Record Check (CRC)
- Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)
- Respect in Sport - Activity Leader certification
- Respect in Sport - Keeping Girls In Sport (recommended, but not required by BC Hockey)
Coaching Certifications Required by December 15:
U7-U9 Recreation (C) Requirements:
- Coach 1 --OR-- Hockey Canada Coach 1 (including all modules)
U11-U21 Recreation (C) Requirements:
- Coach 2 --OR-- Hockey Canada Coach 2 (including all modules)
- Instructional Stream Checking --OR-- HU ONLINE Checking --OR-- Hockey Canada Skills Checking
U13-U21 Rep (A) Requirements:
- Development 1 (including completed evaluation through BC Hockey)
- Instructional Stream Checking --OR-- HU ONLINE Checking --OR-- Hockey Canada Skills Checking
- Making Ethical Decisions
Application Procedure
If you are a new applicant to our association please start at Step 1 - Spordle / Hockey Canada Registration Number.
If you are a returning applicant please start at Step 2 - Submit Application Form.
