Meadow Ridge Female Minor Hockey provides females aged 5 to 17 an opportunity to play hockey in an all female league.  Teams compete against other female  associations throughout  the Lower Mainland with the playing season starting in September and ending in early to mid-March.  The season consists of Pre-Season/Exhibition, Regular Season and Playoffs with home and away games throughout. Teams have a minimum of one practice time per week and some teams enroll or register for tournaments,  off-ice  fitness training or specialized player development instruction.  These additional activities are discussed and decided upon by each team, its players and parents at the beginning of each season.

MRFMHA currently has teams and accepts registration for the Novice (5-8), Atom (9-10), PeeWee (11-12), Bantam (13-14) & Midget (15-17) divisions.  Some divisions offer both recreational and rep levels of play. 

Try-outs for the Rep teams commence in late August or early September.  Players registered for tryouts will be contacted in August with the dates, times and location of the try-outs.  Only players registered with MRFMHA for the current playing season and registered before the annual registration deadline are eligible to attend and participate in try-outs. (please note, exceptions will be made for new players who have moved into the area).

Players registered after the May 1st deadline can not be guaranteeed a spot on a team.  Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis to a maximum of 17 players and 2 goaltenders per recreation team.  Players will be notified on or before Sept 15th if a spot is available.

Registration Procedures:

Returning Players:  Only returning players may register on-line and must make payment with Visa or Mastercard. 

To register and pay by cheque or money order please complete the player registration form and mail in or drop off at the office located upstairs at Planet Ice. 

New Players to MRFMHA must submit a hard copy of the MRFMHA registration form with copies of their Birth Certificate*, Care Card and proof of residence in the Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge association zone.

*Players with a Birth Certificate issued from a country other than Canada must also provide proof of one of the following:

• Canadian Citizenship
• Landed Immigrant
• Parent's Permanent Resident Status
• Parent's documentation that permanent resident status has been applied for
• Parent's Temporary Work Permit

In addition, Out of Town Players transferring to MRFMHA for reason of:

• residential move (new to Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows)
• no female team (in their town of residence)

must complete and submit a PCAHA Application for Player Movement form.

Registration Cancellation:

Registration cancellations refunds are pro-rated and based on the PCAHA League week-by-week schedule to December 31st, LESS; an automatic $50 adminstration fee for cancellations after August 1st, payment plan fees, rep tryout fees, late payment fees and/or credit card fees charged to MRFMHA for registration payment made online by credit card.  All registration cancellations require a MRFMHA Player Cancellation Form, refunds are calculated from the date of receipt of the form.  Eligible players released due to NO HC-CARDED TEAM in their division or those selected to play FEMALE MAJOR MIDGET will receive a full refund LESS payment plan or credit card fees, if applicable.  Refunds are processed automatically for player releases.  All refunds are processed the 2nd week of each month.  

Verbal or email notifications will not be accepted.  There are no refunds for player suspensions or those in violation of the player Code of Conduct.
